COSCO enters Bosnia and Herzegovina

COSCO Shipping is planning to open its first branch the European country of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the capital city of Sarajevo.

The Sarajevo office is part of the ‘One Belt – One Road’ Maritime Silk Road initiative, a massive expansion program for efficient cargo transport and sea route that connects China, Southeast Asia, Oceania, Europe and North Africa. This is COSCO’s fourth regional office, operating alongside others in Croatia and Serbia.

‘The company’s commitment is to make the One belt, One road initiative more recognizable in Bosnia and that the two countries continue to develop friendly and business relations. We are convinced this will bring economic progress for Bosnia’, according to the head of the COSCO Shipping office in Bosnia, Meliha Mujezinovic.

COSCO is a well-known entity, specializing in international and domestic cargo shipping and related services. COSCO Shipping is the leading shipping company in the world, operating with more than 1,100 vessels. Its subsidiary, COSCO, had 393 container vessels, ranking in fourth place in the world and first place in Asia, covering 294 ports in 90 countries, at the end of June 2018.
