New BSH factory in Poland to be built to record size
An industrial real estate leader, Panattoni Europe, has agreed to build a giant factory for BSH, in the Polish city of Łódź. As a group specialized in making home appliances, BSH Sprzęt Gospodarstwa Domowego will focus its energy on the new factory, dedicated to the Industry 4.0 technological standards, where its employees will be making dishwashers.
The new facility, set to be the largest owned by BSH, will be close to 58,500 square meters in size, with a 47,400 sqm production hall and 9,500 sqm of office space. The factory will also have a dishwasher testing and development center. The new build site is located next to the Central European Logistics Hub, in Łódź.
In accordance with modern technological standards, the project will be adapted to the needs of Industry 4.0, integrating human resources and digitally controlled machines with the Internet and information technologies. This modern practice is guaranteed to speed up all factory operations, increase safety and reduce costs.
The official ceremony to mark the start of the project took place on October 15, with representatives of both companies, as well as local authorities attending.
Official estimates show the factory will be handed over at the beginning of 2019 and the first appliances will leave the site by mid-2019.
