Slovenia’s Impol opens new production line for automotive in Croatia
Slovenia’s largest manufacturer of aluminium products recently opened a new production line in Croatia, destined to make parts for the automotive market.
The company launched a new car industry production line in its subsidiary – TLM, with the investment amounting to 6.5 million EUR. This new investment allows Impol to expand its cold rolling mill production, while also giving it the opportunity to make a wider variety of new products, which are intended for industrial customers and specialized auto and aircraft industry markets.
The actual construction of the addition started in August 2018 and the trial production run began in April 2019. According to this schedule, the factory will launch regular production soon.
The new production line can process aluminium products, spanning in depth from 0.5 to 6 mm and with the maximum width of 1,600 mm, working at a top speed of 200 meters per minute, at least six times faster than before, informs the project’s manager, Damir Muhedinović.
TLM is a company based in Šibenik (Croatia), acquired by the Slovenska Bistrica-based company in 2017. It employs 400 people and manufactures around 9,000 tonnes of aluminium per month.
Until 2025, TLM is planning to double its production to 200,000 tonnes per year.
Impol has invested more than 100 million EUR in TLM and plans to keep investing, to expand its production capacity.
