Romanian market ready for new Kärcher investment
The German group Kärcher in ready to build a second factory in Romania, after announcing plans to invest several million EUR in this project.
With a focus on building vacuum cleaners, Kärcher already has a presence on the Romanian market, thanks to its factory in Curtea de Argeș (a city near Pitești and approximately 153 km North-West from the capital-city of Bucharest).
This latest investment of 25 million EUR will help Kärcher relocate ‘most of the production in Romania’, according to the Managing Director of CER Cleaning Equipment (the company that operates Kärcher’s local plant), Ion Bican. The new factory will also be built in Curtea de Argeș.
Back in 2017, the Group bought a building in Curtea de Argeș, to develop a new production facility. Kärcher intends to demolish most of the current building at its new location and rebuild it into an optimum space for vacuum cleaner production and assembly.
‘It will be a major project, with a total investment of around 25 million EUR, money which will be used to acquire technology, machinery for the new range of products and, of course, for the actual building’, said Ion Bican.
