Cordeel Bulgaria, a local variant of the Belgium-based Cordeel Group, started construction on a logistics complex and office site in the country’s capital-city of Sofia.
Having a price tag of 52 million BGN (25,58 million EUR), the new facility will spread across 57,000 sqm, which includes 32,000 sqm of storage space and 4,500 sqm of offices.
This facility will be built on the principle of ‘Build to Suit and Lease’, which is what the future tenant requires. This being said, Orbico Bulgaria – a consumer goods distribution and logistics company and part of Croatia’s Orbico Group – will take up the new logistics center.
According to Cordeel Bulgaria officials, the entire project will take around 18 months to complete and will create 500 jobs in the end.
This is the largest logistics center that the Orbico Group has in Bulgaria and, according to Croatia’s ambassador to Bulgaria, Jasna Ognjanovac, this is also the ‘biggest Croatian investment in Bulgaria’.
Cordeel Group has been a part of Bulgarian business for the past 20 years, having successfully implemented 85 projects in the country.
