Dunapack upgrades its Romanian plant
Dunapack Packaging has been working hard to complete the first step of an upgrade on one of its plants, located in the city of Sfântu Gheorghe (Romania).
The upgrade consists of a 4,000 sqm extension to the existing warehouse storage capacity, which should permit the company to enhance its customer service level.
Included in the first step of this upgrade is the installation of an art Bobst five colour HQ flatbed die cutter, as well as a six point “Masterfold” multi-point gluing machine. These will be used to improve the plant’s complexity and quality of its shelf-ready packaging solutions. Furthermore, a new conveyor system and other automations will maintain Dunapack’s high standards of staff health and safety.
The next step is to install a BHS corrugator, which will replace the existing machine. Installation is scheduled to be finalised in 2020.
Dunapack Packaging is part of the Austrian-based Prinzhorn Group, which is one of the market leaders in the packaging, paper and recycling industry, the group having an annual turnover of 1,6 billion EUR.
