German automotive cables manufacturer further invests in Hungary

Automotive industry cables and connectors manufacturer SCS Stahlschmidt has announced a new capacity expansion at its factory in Tatabánya, north-eastern Hungary.

After investing 700.000 euro on new plant equipment and technological and infrastructure development last year, and increasing the number of “active” products to 220, the company will add another 800 sqm of production hall on the site.

Furthermore, the German manufacturer plans to invest around 1,6 million euro to increase manufacturing and storage capacity in the next two years. SCS Stahlschmidt already has two production halls in Hungary, each of 2.000 sqm and currently employs 350 people. By the end of 2017, the company will create 30 to 40 new jobs at the Tatabánya site.

The plant turns out a flexible Bowden cables comprising inner cables and an outer casing that are produced using metal and plastics components.
