MAHLE has a new Prague warehouse

MAHLE recently extended its operations, thanks to the opening of a new 28-bay warehouse, located in Prague (Czech Republic). As an automotive parts manufacturer, based in Germany, MAHLE GmbH can use the new Prague warehouse to store various parts used for the automotive industry.
Panalpina, a provider of forwarding and logistics services, held the opening ceremony for the new warehouse, which takes up an area of 21,000 sqm. Out of the entire capacity, 2/3 is dedicated to MAHLE, while the remaining 1/3 can be used for various services dedicated to MAHLE and other customers.
This is MAHLE’s central distribution centre for its inbound materials destined for production plants in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. Services included at the new warehouse area are cross-docking and full-truck loading for shuttle. The capacity is estimated at 1,500 to 1,800 pallets per day.
What’s more, the new warehouse is integrated into Panalpina’s global JDA warehouse management system.
‘This is the largest warehouse project for Panalpina in Central and Eastern Europe in two decades and a major contract logistics implementation. We are excited about this opportunity to grow with MAHLE and help them streamline their operations in the region’, according to Panalpina’s country manager for the Czech Republlic.
